About her
It's always difficult to write about oneself, but here we go! I guess I'm fairly settled in life in that my glass is definitely full and I'm enjoying retirement - just missing that special person with whom to spend life's journey. I've had an eventful life, exciting and adventurous at times, been divorced for a few years and retired since 2015. I'm passionate about music from opera to rock and most genres in between, Bocelli to the Moody Blues (now finally learning to play the piano!); history, my family, close friends, Roman archaeology, sailing, photography, Spain, Italy & India, early mornings, birdsong and sunsets and ...LIFE!! I keep busy, but it would be lovely to share all this with someone special. I love outdoor spaces, travelling, but I'm equally happy being at home enjoying the quiet times. Since retiring I've been involved in some volunteer work as part of the maintenance crew on a Jubilee Sailing Trust Tall Ship, followed by a period of working as crew on the same Tall Ship down through the Bay of Biscay to Lisbon. That, together with sleeping under a million stars in Wadi Rum one summer, was one of my most memorable adventures! Bungy jump? No way! I do have my limits and that's definitely not on my list! I love driving and sports (mainly cricket, rugby, football, athletics), although these days I'm quite happy watching from the touch lines or on TV. I read as much as I can, mainly non-fiction, listen to the radio and finally started piano lessons - it's NEVER too late to learn something new as they say! My friends tell me I'm a "loyal friend, kind, generous, thoughtful, but a hopeless romantic"! I like to think I'm a good listener. Assuming you've reached this far, thank you for reading!
