..I understand that a 'Profile' is a snapshot of a life! So here's my snapshot!
Are you looking to meet someone in person have fairly recent photographs and not just want someone to write to!? If so, do contact me. I only went to a gym once and realized I could have the same exercise enjoying myself! So I prefer to keep fit by being busy outside and eating healthy and then only when I need to eat! So, the only tablet I need is my Samsung!
I'm quiet, yet adventurous; & enjoy the outdoors, everything from my garden to the landscape & wildlife. Since the age of 13 I've lived and explored worldwide to meet the people who live there and learn about their lives; from Togo to Timbuktu from Iraq to Nagaland. Whilst living in Borneo & [the original] Singapore I visited most Asian countries by driving or using local trains & buses and a Shackleton bomber! In the last few years, I have been exploring closer to home.
This included all but three of the fabulous and stunning 18 islands off Sicily and the Polish coast, Spain, North Africa & France
I love this beautiful part of the UK & coast & I have led walks for local groups. I enjoy the theatre, arts, leisure cycling, cooking, local history, technology; the amazing wildlife in my garden & made jam & until recently wine from the fruit I grow. I've sculpted in clay and stone, made leaded glass windows and painted both in watercolours, and oils & converted a 2-300-year-old barn.
My first career was in telecommunications; second in education & finance. My third career was very rewarding working voluntarily for 18 organisations in various roles as a caseworker for the charities. These included speaking up for children in care homes; a refugee camp, The Princes Trust, a homeless shelter & spending time with lonely elderly. I was also on school & college governing bodies.
In my travels, I can enjoy both 4-5* hotels but also simple food and simple rooms in overseas homes. I promise I will only talk about my travels if asked and promise I will be more interested in you!

I do understand that photographs can not show the real person inside, but I would like to see recent ones if only for recognition when we meet!
Hopefully, we will have some different interests to talk about.
Ideally, you will already be fortunate to live not far from this beautiful part of the UK. Appreciate its amazing Bay, AONBs two National Parks; enjoy its coastline, countryside, wildlife, gardening & history.
