About her
Although certainly not the youngest person on this website, I believe I am still pretty at 80 (just-turned)... My family and friends seem to think so and don't feel I look my age although they are probably slightly biased :-) (I must remember to post that cheque out!) I am in good health and above all spirit!
I have travelled extensively over the years (particularly to the US) and my 40 year-old son thinks I have a much better grasp of current affairs than he does :-) I enjoy reading, listening to different forms of music (classical obviously hence why I am here) and I am a pianist although I don't sight-read, rather play by ear. I am also a good hostess and love having people over to entertain.
I currently have a comfortable lifestyle in the south-west of France although have lost a number of friends and family members in recent years (ah the joys of getting older!) including my dear husband who passed 5 years ago. Although my family and I have 'muddled' through all of this, as one does, and I have become used to living on my own, I would love to strike up a really nice penpal relationship (at least initially) with a caring, educated man - probably in a similar situation to my own - and then see where that takes us... I am certainly open to any interesting, exciting suggestions for the future so not closing any doors at all. Much would depend obviously on the person in question and mutual interest!
PS. I tend to be more of a pen-to-paper girl and my son is currently helping out with my emails (having some difficulty getting to grips with this modern technology)! Obviously this isn't ideal in this virtual age but hope a potential correspondent is ok with an 'old school' style approach to getting to know me better - and him in return - to start with eg.letters, telephone calls etc. until we possibly decide to meet-up in person.

I would love to meet a gentle, honest, refined and educated man who sometimes feels lonely out there and would like to start a meaningful 'penpal' correspondence with me to start with, although possibly more... who knows?
It would be marvellous to find the right person ultimately for companionship, discussion (I love in-depth debate!), listening to / playing music, evenings out on the 'town' and why not some occasional travel both locally and maybe farther afield in our twilight years.
