About her
We’re all unique. My particular uniqueness is the result of quite an unconventional life for a woman of my age! Didn’t do the expected things like becoming a wife and mother. Trod my own path, travelled very extensively, carved out a successful scientific career.
The arts, architecture and the natural world are things which are central and essential to me. I’m inspired and moved by the wonders of each of them. There’s a lot of joy involved!
I’m intelligent, thoughtful, optimistic, generous with time, attention and effort. Apart from the short haired ones all my photos are recent so you may judge my attractiveness. When I meet people for the first time I’m usually thought to be much younger than my actual age - probably a lot to do with my approach to life. I have an unusual world view compared to most with my background - formed from living in different cultures and having such a huge variety of experience.
I’m always curious, always interested in knowing more, seeing more and understanding more.
About her ideal match
My ideal partner isn’t routine bound. He doesn’t play bridge every Tuesday and golf every Saturday.
He is interested in the arts - all forms - goes to the theatre, concerts, events, ballet, galleries, opera, museums. Loves the Edinburgh Festival in all it’s guises - not just the comedy Fringe.
Wants to travel and maybe show me places I haven’t discovered.
Has enough resource to travel in comfort (as I do).
I’d like him to be fit and not overweight. He keeps fit by doing (not obsessively) some type of sport(s) but not one(s) I necessarily have to do as well. (Although I might). But no sailors!!
He’s had a very successful career and is now mostly retired.
He’s kind, considerate, thoughtful, open minded, loving, tolerant, patient and accepting of the world and people in all their diversity. Probably he reads quite a lot. He’s had a wide variety of experience and learned from it. Someone who is comfortable in their own skin, has come to terms with who they are and is happy about it and is comfortable expressing their feelings.
Independence is also important - don’t want to be joined at the hip.
Most important of all, I think, is that he understands that the basis of good relationships is real, honest communication.
