About him
I am very much a lover of nature, the landscapes, sunsets, nature, most animals and good family dogs. Love the smell of all sorts of lovely plants. People-wise? Those who give of themselves for the benefit of their community or nation. I love art, architecture, sculpture, beautiful gardens, good music and humour. I also appreciate the challenge and satisfaction of DIY, usually on a purely practical scale. I draw and paint. Have written quite a bit of poetry, serious and comical and the occasional tune. Have also written a few short children's stories, a touch of 'Pseudo Shakespear' and lately, have penned a couple of comedy sketches, which quite surprised me and made me chuckle. I would like to get some of my work published soon. Really enjoy the outdoors, be it walking, camping, canoeing, used to ski years ago and could try again. I keep fit through my way of life, but don't 'do' team sports or the gymn, but am happy to walk or cycle several miles at a time, or canoe up a river. This is life, let's contribute to it and be happy.
I'm interested in too many things to get bored. By the way, I do not like the misuse and adulteration of the English language. I'm constantly correcting the BBC, vocally, of course, I don't write in to them, I just moan!
I do enjoy cooking a decent meal. Am currently enjoying my own Christmas cake and actually iced this one, too; delicious!
Succinctly, my likes far outweigh my dislikes.

I also have a reputation for my sense of humour, sometimes corny, but never unkind. I actually rewrote our local Pantomime some years ago to inject more humour. I have also played comedy on stage a few times. Ask me later.
I might be retired, but not idle. Enjoy relaxing and holidays, but there are still creative things that I want to do for our world.
