Thinking I should get back into this and yet again hold back my fears of being annoying. I’ve lived in Philly for close to five years, tangentially part of the local DIY music scene but probably hoping to be a more involved in some ‘scene’ of any sort where I’m not a poser and not being recruited for a cult. Might just be lonely so here I am. Musician at heart, playing bass in a bare bones basement punk band and hitting up every Philly Orchestra/opera production I can cause that’s what actually gives me a thrill these days. I’ll probably fill you in on why the local classical radio station is the last bastion of real radio and the one thing keeping me sane most of the time. Haven’t had much of a taste for any TV or movies recently, hope I don’t disappoint you with my answer to “Have you seen _____?” cause it’s prob no. Came to the jarring realization that I’ve never been a reader-for-pleasure so now I’ll occasionally sit on a park bench and read Anthony Tommasini’s “The Indispensible Composers” even if that’s basically a Cracked.com article about Classical Music. Most days I’m up disturbingly early to lift at whatever gym I belong to now, hoping to beat my body and brain into submission/complacency with mad hours of sedentary office work. Did enough ballet/modern dance in college to keep up with the occasional class at Koresh without being annoying because I’m sure you’ve figured out that’s a recurring theme in my life. Basically if I meet someone here my date ideas will prob revolve around events but if there’s just places to go/stuff to look at let me know cause they shut down the graffiti pier and Baltimore Ave has me awkwardly shrugging at everyone I vaguely recognize. Also I’m 5’8 and if that’s a dealbreaker I won’t bother you. Cool? Cool.
