About her
Having been a much loved primary school teacher, I took early retirement a couple of years ago. Now that the children have flown the nest, it’s time for me. I’m 60 next year and plan to go travelling to all those places I’ve been dreaming of for years - India, the Maldives, New Zealand, Indonesia, to name but a few. I’d so much like to have a travel buddy to share my journeys with, so that’s what’s brought me here.
I’m a creative person and enjoy painting, drawing, pottery, needlework and craft in general. I’m a seasoned DIYer, keen gardener and lover of beautiful, historic places especially National Trust houses. Museums and art galleries are places I enjoy. My favourite gallery is the Museé D’Orsay in Paris with its superb collection of Impressionist paintings. I used to ride horses and had my own in my youth. Now I just own a rabbit. A small, feisty one!
I’m pretty optimistic and resilient. I’m the sort of person who prefers a small circle of good friends, rather than a large gang of acquaintances. Others find me easy to talk to and I’m told and my opinion is often valued.
About her ideal match
My ideal travel buddy would enjoy art, architecture and exploring new places. A ‘grammar school’ sense of humour would be desirable as I love a pun and a giggle! He would need to like animals - always a sign of a kind person for me. I’d also like a companion to go to classical concerts with. My favourite composers are Satie, Handel, Vivaldi, Borodin and I have a keen interest in contemporary music too, the last concert I went to was to see Bastille. Brilliant, although I did feel a bit of a granny!
I am married - on paper. It is complicated but I would happily explain the circumstances should someone wish to know.
I really am just looking for a good male friend. Someone reliable, trustworthy and good fun.
