About her
I'm creative, young at heart (but wiser than I was), warm and loving.
My life has many wonderful ingredients ... creative projects, making music, visiting galleries, reading, cooking, gardening, hiking, volunteering at Foodcycle and, not least my daughter.
I love learning from and being introduced to new things by real people rather than via the internet. While I am happy with my own company some of the time, I also love the closeness and sharing of time spent with a soulmate.
I have travelled independently, far and wide, and would love to return to India and NZ, and visit some new places, preferably in good company.

I am looking for a warm, open-minded, emotionally intelligent person who is interested in exploring together; someone who is interested in what life has to offer; who enjoys discovering something new as much as appreciating what we already have; someone who is comfortable in their own skin.
Ideally someone who loves to be outdoors, appreciates creativity and enjoys a wide range of music.
I'm not interested in: arrogance, closed minds, a sense of entitlement.

I've known Barbara for more years than I care to remember, which suggests that we have a long and lasting friendship, something that I know she shares with others. She is a woman of colour, both literally and metaphorically. Stepping into the decor and fabric of her home lifts the spirits. She herself is full of humour, laughter, thoughts and ideas, many of which we have shared over discussions at our book club. She is passionate about literature and music. There was a time when she played the clarinet but she now restricts herself to singing and listening to music. Film and theatre also feature on her list of cultural interests and she balances these with a love of the hills, the Lake District being a favourite haunt. Her daughter, with whom she has always had a good relationship, is becoming more independent and it has been a pleasure to watch their relationship develop. Oh, and by the way, she is a wonderful cook. Any funny moments? She's just a fun person to be with. Need I say more?

Barbara is a great friend - I've known her for 11 years now. We met through a mutual joy of singing. She is very kind and caring - one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met. She is witty and great to chat to. I love going for cliff top walks with her and chatting over a glass of wine.

I love Barbara's energy, for life, for people, for creative activities. I love her generosity, which shows in her friendships, in the time she gives to her extended family and to cooking and delivering food to people who need it. She has an infectious sense of fun but cares deeply about things that matter. She has a youthful appetite for learning and an openness to new experiences. Her laughter can light up a room.
