About her
I'm also kind, sincere, practical, highly-principled, level-headed and compassionate. My friends say I'm a good listener and a good cook. I'm happy in any kind of attire as long as it's appropriate for the occasion.
My current favourite pastimes include but are not limited to walking, exploring new places, gardening, reading, listening to music and shutting myself in the kitchen with the radio on; Radio 4, Classic FM, Radio 2 if I fancy a sing along or Radio 3 if I don't like what's on offer on the others.
I've played various sports throughout my life and have been involved in music one way or another too. These days it's passively at home or at (mainly) classical concerts. I used to be a regular at rock concerts and my tastes are eclectic.
My happiest happy place though is on or near water, preferably under sail on the sea, though my competent crew certificate expired a long time ago!
Among the other things I enjoy about the great outdoors is companionable silence. I can hold my own in any conversation on most subjects, though less so with scientific or IT stuff.
I have been amicably divorced for several years and enjoy solitude but dislike loneliness. I'm usually fairly easygoing and have an enquiring mind.
In an ideal world, I'd have had three or four children...

About her ideal match
I've been planning for a while to do one last relocation to the south-west, so my ideal partner will either be there already or prepared to move there. On the other hand, I could perhaps be persuaded somewhere else (preferably coastal, but definitely not with amusement arcades). On my bucket list: to walk the South-west Coast Path, transfer to the local U3A and a choir, take up badminton or tennis again, learn to play golf, do an odd course in art or underwater basket weaving and some voluntary work. He will share some of my interests and have some of his own. Shared values are also extremely important and if he has a European language, that would be a bonus.
I'd really like to find a companion initially, morphing in time to someone to love and look after on a reciprocal and democratic basis.
