About him
I'm looking to keep fit as age progresses. I used to play lots of sports but due to family circumstances, have not done much in that respect for the last few years, but really up for starting it all again, well, maybe not everything that I used to do ! I prefer to spend as much time as possible outside. When in business, gardening was my therapy, and I still enjoy that, and I walk every day. I nearly bought a yacht some 35 years ago, but the children's ponies got in the way of that. Dreams ?
My two girls are well established and independent and we all get on well together, I see them and my two granddaughters quite often and occasionally have my daughter's dog to stay when they are extremely busy. No formal ties to the family though, my time is my own, and my days go better when the day is started relatively early. I'm still hands on regarding practical things and have several possible projects in mind.
At various times in the past I have done the cooking for the family, but it's not that much fun cooking for one, not a "foodie" but enjoy good food cooked well with the occasional glass(es) of wine.
Still feel that a partnership is more than its' constituent parts, and I'm looking for the right person to spend the rest of my life with. I suppose that should be "...with whom I wish to spend the rest of my life"
A dying man's last words to his friend were "I've been shot, I'm done for !" He was immediately reprimanded by his colleague at his side, saying " you should never finish a sentence with a preposition, yet alone your last one ! " I have some sort of a sense of humour.
Again, due to family commitments (and Covid), I haven't done much travelling for some time, but now would be a good time to do a bit more exploring, this time à deux, both in the UK and abroad.
About his ideal match
My ideal match needs to be someone who considers keeping fit and not becoming overweight an important part of the way that they see their future. Not necessarily competitive in the sporty sense, but regular exercise of some sort in the open air together would be very important to me. An interest in gardening would be useful though not a deal breaker if you have something else to do whilst I do a bit. An interest in anything to do with sailing, tennis, table tennis, golf etc would be good, and tennis is one of the few sports that I regularly watch on TV.
Overriding all that, is that we would be building a new life together, and I would be prepared for the right person to change a few big chunks of the life that I'm leading at the moment if that was what was needed to succeed.
