Ooh, let's see.... Well, I'm a writer and editor; happy in my work, striving for self-development and trying to make a difference.
Random acts of kindness inspire me; emotional intelligence and sensitivity move me. I'm a softie, but I'm not a pushover. I'm a bit of a word nerd and adore word play, but I also value authenticity and the beauty of speaking your own truth in a caring way.
I'm an avid cloud spotter, and pretty good at identifying sun dogs. I have a major weakness for vintage. Oh, and true story: I own a man pillow. (It's been a long pandemic, so I stand by that... And I sleep with that, too.)
For what it's worth, I prefer over-ear headphones to earbuds; the richness of sound is happiness-inducing. That said, I've had the same phone for eight years, and I still own a portable cd player from (whisper it) the nineties. You can call me 'old school', it’s ok.
Although I live in the city, I was brought up in the countryside and gravitate towards woodlands; waves; big trees; unbroken skylines. I love gardening, and in the past year, I've developed a local bird shelter and am frequently up at 5am to feed them.
Favourite pieces of classical music include: Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia by Khachaturian, Gymnopédie by Erik Satie, Ständchen by Schubert, The Carnival of The Animals by Saint-Saëns, and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Rachmaninov.
Some things I'd love to be good at: ice skating, growing a quince, making bread, finishing that novel.
Sometimes I can touch my toes, sometimes I can't. That's life, eh?
Special powers: juggling random-shaped contents of fruit bowls, looking on the bright side, identifying obscure records from musical intros, doing headstands.

Looking for: I guess I'm looking for a lot of the things we're all looking for; companionship; the sound of a special heartbeat; a rainbow connection (shout-out to Kermit!). Acceptance, but also... someone who can make me think in new and interesting ways. A life-affirming collaboration. Laughter; tenderness; mutual admiration and respect. Lots of kissing. The person you look at with crusty eyes first thing in the morning and think: wow, I'm tickled pink that I know you. Also: tickles... And a voice that gives me goosebumps... And magic hands.
Let me paraphrase the legend that is Prince. You don't have to be rich, you don't have to be a particular size, you don't have to be cool (although I have a good feeling that you will be), you don't have to be a particular star sign.... Erm, and yes, I want to be your fantasy, and maybe you can be mine. (Smooth. Thanks, Prince.)
You do have to be single; honest; self-aware; decent; a good egg. Ideally, you are progressive; gentle, but strong enough to be good at piggybacks; a bit of a nerd in some way; someone who would be happy with midnight chats and walks in the rain; and someone who doesn't mind if we don't always follow the recipe book. But really, I don’t have a shopping list for this - just looking for that click, you know?
Hope we can be friends for a bit first and that things develop in an organic and mutually supportive way, because I think that's sort of where the real magic happens, but I'm also willing to be totally blown away, improvise and dash off on mad adventures together, because... that's also sort of where the real magic happens.
