About her
I enjoy being interested in people and discussing the rollercoaster of life. In particular, sharing tips for helping each other meet life’s challenges.
Growing up in the Black Country, I went to University in Norwich at the end of the 60’s, but came back to do my teacher training at Birmingham University. After teaching both Primary and Secondary children for a few years, I met my (now ex-) husband, married and retrained as an Accountant, qualifying as a Management Accountant in the NHS, where I worked on various budgets, which included the West Midlands Regional Ambulance Service, The Centre for Information Technology and others.
My two wonderful daughters were born in the 1980’s following which I had a few years at home with them, arranging activities, which developed them as people, and generally being a home manager, before going back to teaching children who were off school ill as a Home Tutor with the James Brindley School.
I retired in 2010. Since then my life has been occupied by family as I spent time with my mother, sister and my daughters. I now have two beautiful grandchildren, now 1 and 3, who keep me young at heart.
In recent years I have travelled to Rome, Australia, New York and Iceland. There are still parts of the world I would like to see, but my ambition for my next holiday abroad is to return to Spain to see extended family.
During daily life I like to walk (I have a small dog), play the piano, read and socialise. I treat myself to concerts and plays when I have chance, as well as going to places of interest, on my own or with friends, and it would lovely to share those interests with someone. I am Treasurer of the Library Committee here and a member of the book club and craft groups. I enjoy having a go in the kitchen and trying new recipes from time to time as well as eating out.
