I'm a quiet but cheerful individual who has been described by friends as intelligent, dependable and genuine. Although not always the most confident or astute of individuals, I am in many ways I'm like an archaeological site; the deeper you dig, the more treasures you unearth!
I have a passion for heritage, history, arts and culture, especially the 'hidden gems' that most people overlook. This interest has taken me to some unique places, from archaeological ruins inside modern office blocks to 'ghost stations' on the London Underground network. I love a daytrip to a historic town, ruin, house, castle, museum or gallery and a perfect day for me would involve grabbing a guide and setting off to explore!
I love learning and my go TV and radio would be BBC 4 and Radio 4 for documentary/current affair type programmes. I enjoy classic music (Beethoven, Handel, Bach) and soundtracks (John Williams, James Horner).
I enjoy reading and love the works of HG Wells as well as works of non-fiction and philosophy (secret parts of London, the letters of Seneca, La Rochefoucauld). Browsing second hand bookshops is a real treat for me! I enjoy watching films, especially classics, historical-period and Sci-fi (Brief Encounter, Madness of King George, Amelie, Star Trek films).
