About him
I imagine people would describe me as friendly but private. Opinionated but never aggressively so, talkative and discursive in micro situations but uncomfortable in crowds so not really a party person.
I enjoy discussion and debate and am willing to talk about just anything. So if you want to chat about the book you've just read, or poem you've just written, or music you are listening to, or merely wax lyrical about the view then I have a good ear. Should you ponder the absence of friends, muse upon the past triumph and failure, discovery and loss alike you will find I have a good heart too.
I'm a historian, author, and artist who has his own blog and writes extensively on the past and things that matter to me and viewing the world in that context find I'm interested in most things. I read a great deal and am somewhat of a bibliophile. I particularly enjoy Victorian literature and poetry more generally. I also love art and can often be found playing around with paints and ink. I cannot bear to see a blank sheet of paper.
I also like to visit museums, galleries, National Trust properties, enjoy cafe culture while you cannot beat a good pub lunch.
I'm very fond of animals especially dogs and the majesty of the horse.
I love the countryside, its beauty, its pace of life. I like to walk, take photos. I enjoy the lovely English coastline, the clifftops, the view out to sea, the refined air.
I can tolerate the bustle of the city to visit the sites, the theatre attend a concert and live on the wild side for an hour or two but would always prefer those intimate moments with that someone special in our shared place of joyous perfection.
My outlook on life is positive - It is a blessing after all.

I don't know if there is an ideal match, indeed there shouldn't be for life is a journey of discovery and I would look forward to learning something new about you everyday but shared interests,is a start. So if you enjoy art, poetry, the classics, galleries museums, music, antiques and particularly history; walks in the countryside, good food, fine wines and a love of animals especially dogs with an open mind and ideas of their own then that would be great - shared inspiration would work for us, I'm sure.
I would like to share all my activities with my partner.
There is no deal breaker, nothing is mandatory, just be endlessly fascinating and you will be eternally adored (especially if you can see past the ear piercing).
