About her
I’m an optimistic, reasonably sorted woman, enthusiastic about lots of things, with a daily need for good coffee and a worrying habit of buying too many pairs of boots.
Just discovered I’d ticked the box for just online friends or casual pick ups, which may explain some of the responses I’ve had. Now changed.
I was married for over 30 years and know the value of long term relationships. I’m close to my kids, love what I do, but I’m also sure that there’s another half an adult life out there for me to spend with someone else. I am energetic, loving, funny ( on a good day) and keen on monogamy.
I’ve had significant relationships with two people since my marriage ended, one of them for over 2 years, and am friends with both still.
I like going to galleries, enjoy classical music and opera at the Barbican, RFH, ROH etc, and the occasional live gig in Islington or Shepherds Bush Empire. Trying to wean myself off daily newspapers but I still subscribe to the TLS and The Week, and read lots of novels. I also enjoy occasional Netflix series ( usually pre- watched and recommended by my kids).
I play the piano to a reasonable standard and love duets and accompanying others. I guess - similarly - I’ve got used to living alone but would much prefer to have someone to go out, and stay in, with.
I'm currently learning how to play Bridge "properly" having winged it for many years, so a partner in cards would be a good start (or an end in itself), and I sing in a choir.
I’m an art historian, very lucky to have found a second career after I had brought up my children ( originally studied Theology at Oxford though have never been particularly religious). I work part time in a research post but also am involved in ongoing other research, exhibition organising etc.

I value people who are kind and funny ( not kind of funny). My friends, many of whom I’ve known since university, are interested in the world, liberal minded, animated by culture in the broadest sense of the word, open to others, not sweating the small stuff. I guess I’m looking for similar in a date for a night out and then possibly a future partner.
