Retired free-lance linguist, widely travelled and independent-minded. I try not to take myself too seriously - though I'm serious about the things that matter. I love intelligent, well-informed discussion, keeping fit and active, all kinds of music, including classical, singing with a number of local choirs, volunteering at a local school helping children with their reading, and spending time with friends and family, especially my 5-year-old grandson.
