About her
Independent, intelligent, attractive, healthy, kind, empathetic and, “the best grandma in the world!”are some of the ways I have been described. I am interested in the natural world, history, art and music. I took up art classes when I was widowed many years ago and enjoy attempting to capture things and places in different media - with varying degrees of success. Since moving to Dorset to be near my family five years ago I have enjoyed regular walks throughout the year of all over the county, and have found so many pretty villages and always beautiful countryside. Podcasts keep me company on these, but nothing beats a conversation with another human. Likewise being able to discuss a gallery visit, play or concert with someone who has shared the experience can really enrich it. Do you agree?
As well as doing the usual enjoyable ‘Grandma’ duties, I am an active member of several local U3a groups, a Governor at a local school and I attend exercise classes at the local sports centre. While I usually enjoy cooking I also enjoy meals out and find a glass of wine always helps things along. I love travelling in France, spend summer holidays on small Greek Islands and have a serious bucket list all of which would be better with two.
I am definitely a ‘glass half full’ person and try to find the best side of any situation. I believe life is too short to be miserable! If some of this chimes with you then please let me know. You have nothing to lose and potentially we could both gain that elusive special someone.

While I am lucky to have made good friends it would be wonderful to find a special companion who would share some of my interests and introduce me to new ones (always happy to learn). A companion for country walks; for a trip into London to see an exhibition, enjoy a meal and get that city buzz; someone to join in preparing dinner, to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and watch the bats’ acrobatics at dusk, or in companionable silence while we read or listen to music.
