I am kind, fun-loving and full of interests including reading, politics and travel. I love puzzles and playing card games, especially bridge. I like cooking, eating out and my family (which is large and full of great characters). I have a dog and walk every day as well as attending Pilates twice a week. I think looking after my health is very important as I hope to have lots of healthy active years ahead of me. I’m generally optimistic and enjoy life but have realised that too much time alone brings me down.
I’m uncertain about living with a new partner. I think for the moment a person who had their own busy, independent life but who would like a really close friend would suit me. I would love company for nice meals out, theatres, concerts, cinemas etc. I'd also love a travelling companion as I have moderately itchy feet. I'd love to see more of America, and perhaps visit Peru but would feel daunted doing these sorts of trips alone, although I am pretty competent and independent generally.

I’m lucky to have had a lovely husband for over 30 years. He was a good, kind, intelligent man and these are the qualities I’d look for in a man, although I realise that it’s unfair to compare too much. I also would ideally like to meet someone with a social conscience who’d care about other people. On top of that I want to have visits to concerts, theatres, cinemas , museums etc. and would love a keen companion for these outings and for travel. I am happy to travel further afield than Europe, although I’m not against staycations. There are lots of beautiful places in the UK.
