I'm slowly turning into a saint which is beginning to worry me as I'd much rather be a sinner and have a death-bed conversion. But there you go, I can't help myself. I am a retired accountant, oh it gets worse, I have a slight paunch but can't put on weight and I lost my hair about 30 years ago. Did I tell you about my dental bills? I am rather suspicious about having fun but I do paint for relaxation - mainly in oil, but a dalliance with watercolour has been made. I love a good art gallery but have to go to sleep after a visit to one. I have always read a great deal. I have tried writing novels. Occassionally I write bad poetry as well. I'm romantic but also level headed. I'm not the sporty type. I am tactile, empathetic and affectionate. I've been a widower for several years. I have children and grandchildren whom I adore and spend much time with. There is a lot of love in my life but plenty of room for you as well. I've been a christian for most of my life. Oh yes, I like Science Fiction, so sorry.

I don't want to be too prescriptive because the fact is you can meet someone who is totally incompatible but somehow the magic fairy dust is there. I am hoping that the magic fairy dust will land on someone who is fun, kind, intelligent, witty, thoughtful, aware of social issues, a considerate lover, a wonderful friend, a soul open to mystery and beauty, spiritual. I think a relationship would work if both parties wanted a shared adventure and life, had a common vision and a readiness to adapt and change both in circumstance, and understanding - because life with that person is worth making the effort for. I don't just want a snog and a wrestle on the sofa, although that would be quite nice too. I have always been torn between Audry Hepburn as Sister Luke in The Nun's Story and Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffanys.
