I am a well educated man who likes interesting conversations and can talk about most things. I am interested in classical music and used to play the violin and viola, but I would dare play them now because it would certainly drive you away (due to lack of practice)! I like travelling and although I have been to quite a lot of Europe, I would like to see a lot more of the world. It is so much more interesting to share experiences and make new memories with the right person.
I have 3 grown up daughters who I am very proud of, even though they can still be challenging at times!
I am interested in science, and am also interested in history and culture and like visiting places of historical and cultural interest, looking at the architecture and art.
I go walking (not hiking) and I would like to do this with my partner, although a halfway stop for a drink or a meal is always a good idea! Even when the wind is gusting it can be good walking, but living in Yorkshire, I am used to getting wet!

I am looking for a serious long term relationship with someone who is within 1 hours' travelling time as I don't think a long distance relationship will work for me as I would like to see someone regularly. It would also be good to meet during a weekday sometimes, so someone who is working part time or retired would be preferable, although not essential if it's the right person! I have no pre-conceptions about who I might get on well with, which is important when forming and building a relationship.
