I am so old that I am on a dating site looking for coffee and a conversation - anything beyond that is a miracle. I must be honest I am pretty clueless as a partner but I do make a good friend. No one has ever praised my sparkling conversation but I have been told that I am a good listener though a friend ventured that the reason I can listen to her saying the same things again and again is that by the next day I have completely forgotten everything she said :) I like people but not crowds. I listen to music all the time - everything from Bach to Peggy Gou, favourite genres include film music, piano concertos, and Christmas Carols. My favourite piece of music since age 9 has been 'The Blue Danube' and whenever I hear it I think of spaceships, my favourite popular song is Joni Mitchell's 'Both Sides Now', and the piano is my favourite instrument. My favourite film is '2001' which changed my life. I love science fiction and have interests in physics, maths, psychology, education, architecture, and recently history. Walking is a hobby and I enjoy looking at buildings as well as nature. I am usually left of centre, support women's rights, and LGBTQ+ rights without exception, as well as the equality of all ethnic groups. I love London's diversity, have bags of empathy and can be good at talking to people in distress - having been on both sides. I like telling people their good points and have been described as warm and kind by someone with a good sense of humour :) I haven't visited many countries but my mind has been all over the place which is enough for me. I've always been a square peg in a round universe - as a good friend joked I was born blue and went downhill from there! :) In the 17th Century Francis Bacon wrote 'There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion', my little bit of 'strangeness' is best explained in the film 'A Beautiful Mind' or the TED talk by Eleanor Longden available online. I am different but I'm not trouble!

If you like the lyrics of John Lennon's 'Imagine' then I like you. I am looking for a local(ish) non religious woman to chat with over coffees etc and to go for walks with - perhaps to museums/art galleries or a park, and have long conversations with - someone to hang out with. I don't have a type. Recently I went to a concert at LSO St Luke's and would love to do that again. Or Conway Hall. I hope to meet someone with science, humanities, or musical interests. I admire people with good 'people' skills and love warmth. Having a coffee doesn't mean we are getting married - as the 1984 Dune film says "A beginning is a very delicate time"! If you have a story I'd love to hear it. Do you have a good sense of humour and an acute appreciation of the absurd? If like me you have a limited income too that would be perfect! Sometimes I like the profiles of people who I don't expect to like mine - simply because they have good profiles, people don't have to like me for me to like them - life is just easier that way so please don't worry. :) Of course everyone dreams. :) My friends are part of the package as I expect your friends to be. I am happy to give a DVD copy of the film 'A Beautiful Mind' to anyone I meet. My experience has been that most of the women here are kind - but if you are reluctant to get involved with someone with mental health issues I do understand how you feel, I've been on both sides. I realise some people like my profile because they are good natured - thank you! Remember it is always ok to say 'no thanks' :)
