About him
I`m 75, but, I think, with a younger mindset. I have had a reasonably successful career in the law, and also a fairly active sporting and domestic life. I played rugby until I was 50 and was Chairman of my village cricket club for over 20 years. I`ve travelled a bit, particularly cruises, and am keen to do more. I enjoy rural living - the pub, cricket and rugby, and music. I`m still knowledgeable and alert, with a good store of knowledge if pub quizzes are anything to go by, I play lawn bowls regularly during the summer but that`s it for my sporting activities these days. . My wife died last year and living alone has been a steep learning curve. I`m now competent enough in running my home, but find life without a companion dull and meaningless. I`m thankful for the loyal devotion of my elderly Yorkshire Terrier. There are still things I want to achieve, and with the right person, there is still fun to be had. I`m honest, sincere and dependable, and generally easy going. I play a few instruments, and once in a while will perform locally. The longest journey starts with the first step, and that first step, for me, is messaging. I like to write, and I write monthly eclectic articles for the local Parish Magazine. And, I suspect, like the type of person I hope will respond, I find it hard to believe that I am doing this, but circumstances dictate that one has to try harder to meet that special someone.
