About him
I'm young at heart. My main interests are classical music (especially 20th century), fine art, writing, people, and some films. A few favourite composrs are Shostakovich, Vaughan Williams, Bax, Ravel, Mahler, Respighi, Tchaikovsky. I like mainly orchestral, instrumental and choral music, but not opera or musicals. I support the National Youth Orchestra but it's difficult for me to get to concerts.
I've worked in the film and record industries and am now retired. I write short stories and have self-published three books. I love nature but am limited in how far I can comfortably walk. I have a large garden.
Many of my friends have moved away and I'd like to find a new like-minded friend with some similar interests.
I enjoy good/intelligent conversation, especialy one-to-one, on any subject. I've always enjoyed female company but I am only seeking friendship, not romance nor a relationship.
I'm a good listener and like exchanging ideas. I'm quite a reflective and thoughtful person and I think kindness is just about the most important quality for any of us.

I'm really looking for friendship, not romance.
I would like to meet someone younger who enjoys meaningful conversation and the arts. Articulate, open-minded, tolerant, enquiring. All my life I've had friends who are younger than me and I miss that young energy. We could talk about anything, share thoughts and ideas and benefit from different points of view. Sadly, my three most significant friends have all now moved away and so
I'd appreciate being able to meet someone with their own transport, free to meet up up once or twice a month, maybe more.
It would be nice to share thoughts about life generally, music, art, anything that arises in conversation, and take gentle strolls in gardens or countryside and occasional lunches or dinners.
But, sorry, no dogs!
