I have many many friends but nearly all of whom are married folks.
I am v sadly now a widower.
Being alone is not a state in which I want to spend my days.

About his ideal match
What is am looking for, initially at least, is to find a lady I want to spend time with, and obviously who wants to spend time with me.
Someone I want to listen to and someone who wants to listen to me. Ideally also gets my "have I got news for you" type sense of humour.
I really don't want to go on a holiday alone. It just seems so pointless.
If you are nervous I respect that and am happy to exchange email messages for as long as we both find so doing to be interesting.
But ultimately chemistry between people is what matters and anyone who wants to meet me (coffee or a drink) is who I want to meet.
Its a big (perhaps too big) an ask ? - but ultimately someone who will love me and want me to love them.
