About him
I'm a now middle-aged professional cellist (43), born in Australia but a British passport holder, and I've been back and forth between UK and home at different stages of life.
Now based in West London I'm looking for a long-term partner ideally, three years after leaving a long term relationship.
I like to think I'm educated, sophisticated and cultured with a flair for languages and passion for travel, the exotic as well as the finer things in life.
I value time alone, particularly to practice the cello(!), and enjoy many friendships with people from different walks of life (and in different parts of the world), though generally need some time to recharge without being a complete introvert!
I'm engaging, well-spoken and sometimes quite tongue-in-cheek with a fairly dry wit. I've been described as good company on many occassions!
Outside of music I love visual art, opera, theatre, history, fashion and literature. I enjoy swimming and walking and am widely travelled.
I've lived in Australia, Switzerland, Russia and UK and am hoping to settle here long-term, but open to wherever life takes me.
About his ideal match
I'm fairly flexible as to my 'ideal' partner as I'm not sure an ideal really exists! I would prefer to meet someone outside of the music world but with an interest or at least respect for what I do and have devoted much of my life to. I'd like someone with a strong sense of self that is able to take me in hand when required, but also to allow me the freedom to be myself and keep evolving and exploring. Ideally I'd hope to live with my match and travel with them when life and work allows. Indulging in some fine dining together, going out to the theatre, opera and exhibitions would be wonderful but not essential! Deal breakers for me are debt, gold-diggers, controlling tendencies and effeminate men.
