About her
I'm independent, still self-employed and living a full life with lots of interests, activities and good friends (quality not quantity is what counts in that respect). I'm happy to do things alone - including travelling - if I need to, but it would be great to do them with someone special. Friends say I'm funny, honest and self-deprecating and a good listener. I hope I'm also compassionate and maybe sometimes I feel things too deeply. My passions are music (I sing with two choirs), books, gardening, yoga and swimming. I try to keep myself as fit and healthy as possible so that I can continue to sing and dance and explore the world for as long as I'm alive.

Everyone answers 'a sense of humour' but I'd add that I'm looking for someone who can laugh at himself too. You don't take yourself too seriously but you're not afraid to delve into life's deeper corners; it would be great if sometimes we "tired the sun with talking and sent him down the sky". I'd love to share your knowlege and passions (preferably not football or cars) and I'd hope you'd share my curiosity about the world. .
I'm looking for someone who is happiest spending time with one other special person or a small group of friends and family rather than crowds of people. I can go wild at a party or a gig with the best of them, but a little goes a long way. If you can't live without the woods and the fields, the mountains and rivers and seas then maybe we can explore them together, with a European city or town for a bit of a contrast and maybe some further flung parts of the world too.
We probably won't hit it off if your main pleasures are watching sport, reality TV or action movies. Politically, you're probably left rather than right leaning and I'd prefer you were environmentally aware. You don't have to be a male version of Greta Thunberg but a desire to treat our planet with respect is pretty much non-negotiable. (Train is my ideal way to travel and a big cruise ship my idea of hell.)
I'm not looking for a fitness fanatic, and I'm not one myself, but you need to care about looking after your health. You would be reasonably fit and active so that we could explore the world independently and you would try and eat healthily with room for indulgence now and again.
I won't be impressed by what car you drive or your material wealth. Money is nice to have but it's not what defines a person.
Finally, one last thing which is absolutely non-negotiable: You aren't alcohol dependent, you don't feel the need to get drunk on a regular basis and you don't think alcoholism is funny.
Am I asking too much? I still want to believe that there is someone out there who reads this far and thinks 'That's me.'
