About him
I’m well educated and logical-minded (somewhat OCD! :-) ). My interests include music, heritage transport, and puzzles. Over the years I’ve played the flute, bassoon, tuba, and various guitars in orchestras, wind bands, marching bands, and ad-hoc groups—though never at a professional level. At the moment, I keep busy with five volunteer roles across heritage groups (steam, both rail and ship), and my retirees’ club.
I’ve also had a long involvement with the Scout Association—first as a cub and scout, then later in leadership and band activities—although these days my connection is more occasional.
One day, I'm planning a model railway. One day ... :-). I do feel I need someone to give me a nudge occasionally, to stop me stagnating, not just with my railway!
I was married in 1970, so more than 55 years ago now. I’ve been widowed for over 20 years and divorced for one. I have three lovely children and seven grandchildren, of whom the eldest three have already graduated and the others are heading the same way! These days, I enjoy the independence of living on my own, though I still believe many things in life are better when shared.
What makes me mad is the price hike when I look up cruises and see the single fare! I'd love to share the experience for the same price!
Oh yes, mustn't forget, I am slightly disabled. Some long latin name meaning bad back! This results in balance problems. I can walk, with a stick, but not far. So, long walks are a non-starter unless I can take my buggy, which I often do! :-))

I am wondering if there's someone out there to share coffee, experiences, reminiscences, cruises, and life in general. Just someone to talk to, either in person, preferably, or electronically!
Unfortunately, whilst I love being outdoors, someone who spends most of their lives very actively would not be high on my list – for your sake - but I can watch! 😀
