About him
The hard part! I'm intelligent, practical (need anything fixed?), I work hard at my job, but have lots of interests (and friends) to encourage me to go home. I like old houses, gardens, walking in the countryside maybe with a nice pub thrown in - or lounging at home cooking with a glass of something suitable in hand....preferably for someone appreciative. I like quite a spectrum of music, but major on renaissance and baroque - plus dabble in folk, jazz and the odd bit of modern stuff too (CD shelves cover quite a breadth of styles).
I reasonably fit, but not a gym junkie (do a regular class though) - I walk as much as possible and cycle too, as well as having a go at most dance styles. I'm not into sports spectating, althought I don't mind taking part - I ski when I can and was into canoeing in my student days. I have travelled a bit - always keen to do more, but my favourite so far is definitely Italy: style, culture, great food just for starters!
I have plenty of freinds who seem to think I'm OK (I hope!), but I do like to choose when I have compamy or solitude - it's nice to have someone around, but you're own space is important too. A partner would have to have a similar outlook, starting with freindship (no hope if we can't get that bit right!) and be prepared to be different but equal...life's too short to worry about who's in charge all the time and anyway, we all have different things we like/dislike or are good/bad at - varierty being the spice & all that.

I'm looking for someone educated, (positive) thinking, kind and considerate, and definitely with a sense of humour - there are important things in the world, but not all life can be taken too seriously. An interest in the countyside, walking, nice pubs and so on is a must, and prefferably in gardens and older properties (NT member sort of thing). Someone who likes to dress up and be taken out somewhere nice, but is also happy relaxing at home - or even covered in mud digging the garden!
