About her
Age is only a number. I'm told I am young at heart and have a good sense of humour. I tend to look on the bright side of life. I love the countryside, being with family and friends dining out, theatre, most music, visiting stately homes (where I'm sure I used to live in my former life), travel and whilst I am happy with my own company many things can be enjoyed so much more when shared with a companion. It's not quite the same when I admire the beautiful carpet of bluebells and my dog just goes bounding through them or listen to the buzzards mewing and she takes no notice.
Update...I do now have another rescue dog. He is a 4year old Rough Collie (a Lassie Dog). He is frightened of the world but is slowly settling in and learning he is safe. Luckily for me he loves being brushed otherwise it could be a problem with all that fur!!
A relaxing evening at home chatting over a glass of wine and good food or curled up watching a film is just as much fun as an evening at the theatre or dining out. I also enjoy jigsaw puzzles and quizzy things and I have an eclectic taste in reading.
A few years ago I was lucky enough to holiday in China staying with an old school friend. Walking on the Great Wall was like being on the roof of the world. I have also enjoyed a holiday touring New Zealand and Australia which was wonderful and I would love to have the chance to go again but perhaps at a more leisurely pace. Landing at Alice Springs airport was exactly what I imagined having read Neville Shute's famous book. Enough of long distance travel though. One of my favourite places to relax is a beautiful valley near Harlech, north Wales, with wonderful views out to sea or the mountains and watching the red kites soaring.
I went to Florence some years ago and that was it. I fell in love with Italy and now I am trying to learn the language. Unfortunately with Covid, like many people, I've had to cancel planned holidays back to Italy but when we can it would be fun to have the chance to practice my new found skill??

Must be comfortable with who they are. Being honest and trustworthy are essential characteristics.Someone who enjoys our beautiful countryside and doesn't mind getting caught out in the rain when walking the dog(s). A sense of humour would probably come in handy here. Someone not afraid to show their emotions.( Listening to Madam Butterfly singing One Fine Day always brings me to tears.) Someone who is equally at ease whether enjoying a luxury weekend away or a rainy time in a cottage in wild Wales. Having your own interests and pastimes is important as well as having your own friends. It's usually fun to try something different and meet new people. I'm afraid being a dog lover is an essential requirement . Being able to cook and lend a hand in the garden would also be very welcome.
