I've spent far too long worrying about the future and now want to enjoy the present. I adore firsts - being first one to break ice on a puddle, the first sleep in newly laundered sheets, first snow of winter, first sun of spring. I love the company of kids - good news for a teacher - but my own kids above all. They make me feel alive and hopeful. They're an antidote to the deadening muffle of the everyday routine. I love drawing, painting, writing, cooking - creative pursuits - I'm pretty average at them all but would desperately like to be good at them. I adore laughter and mostly making others laugh. I work with a youth football team as a coach and enjoy films, the theatre, live music, restaurants and quite like going round those little local art society shows in mildewy church halls you always find in holiday towns in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
