About her
My musical taste ranges from the various categories of classical to blues, modern jazz and 60s rock. Though a passionate music-lover, I have lots of other interests, too. I'm particularly interested in the natural world and committed to keeping my 'footprint' light; though I try not to be too evangelical about it, I am a bit impatient with climate change deniers. After a fairly varied career, mostly in a former public utility, I've kept busy in retirement with involvement at a strategic level in planning for wildlife and sustainable development, on a part-time basis. Having been a single parent for such a long time, I do have an independent streak but there is definitely a gap in my life for someone with whoa I can share some of the finer things in life and maybe build a long-term relationship based on mutual love and respect.

I've never known how to understand or respond to the strong, silent type or the Peter Pan looking for a surrogate mother. I'm definitely hoping to find an open, warm-hearted, emotionally literate partner but who does not necessarily need to share every moment. Someone who still has items on their 'things to do one day' list and at least some interests in common will find me a good companion, willing to take on something new. Shared values are a vitally important foundation, however, though it takes time to establish the groundwork, so patience, honesty and sensitivity are essential.
