About him
For me a lot of things in life are more fun when shared with a woman: more fulfilling too. According to my latest check up I'm in good health both mentally - I'm very optimistic - and physically, so I should be around for a time to enjoy them. After a life in multinationals I set up house in Provence twenty years ago and run it as a B&B. The highlights of this are dining with interesting people almost every evening for six months of the year (I am the cook and occasionally run cookery courses) and enjoying good conversation with them , often about subjects I would otherwise never have explored such as American history. As a result I have a pretty large library and the house is full of art most of which I have bought from the artists. I wouldn't be happy inactive all year round; apart from the money running a small business forces me to keep reasonably up to date with life: things like the internet. Quite a lot of my guests are music lovers attracted by the old Bluthner piano and the wide range of classical music concerts in easy reach, to which I often take them: the Méjan in Arles, the Empiri in Salon and Musique à la Ferme in nearby Lançon. We also have concerts from time to time in the drawing room here. So culture generally is something that is better shared. Outdoor activities too: skiing, hiking - one of my favourites is the GR20, enjoying the treasures of Provençal architecture and life, even my daily jog in the vineyards above the house. Then more simple evenings for two: a good dinner followed by reading or watching a video in front of a log fire. And so to bed. A lot of things to be shared but not all the time: I occasionally enjoy being alone and would expect a partner to be similar. Perhaps one of the many things to discuss at the outset of a relationship and sometimes afterwards.

A few positive adjectives: honest, intelligent, open minded, sociable, enthusiastic, cultivated, relaxed, optimistic. She should like at least some of the things listed in my profile: outdoor activities, food, conversation, reading, music. It would be a plus if she can play a musical instrument.. She should enjoy sleeping with me in due course; my preferences between the sheets are fairly undemanding and certainly don't include any form of violence. I would hope that she is open to a long term relationship but would not be obsessed by plans for the future.
