About him
My move to Norwich was meant to be temporary but it has become more indefinite. Really like this ,fine city’. I am interested in co-housing and cooperative ventures, but also want to do more travelling. Not long ago, I spent the better part of 3 months in New Zealand 'tramping' and generally getting fitter. NZ is a wonderful country with lots of great people, and the only downside was being on my own most of the time while visiting beautiful places, especially on the south island. I intend to return and like to have a female travelling companion then. Japan, for different reasons, is top of my bucket list.
I've done amateur acting in the past 10 years and like to resume this soon. Theatre-going is an enjoyable activity as is also films and art/museum exhibitions. Another important interest is co-counselling which I've done since the 1980s and am now an acknowledged co-co teacher (especially enjoy going to their residential events at such wonderful venues as Earthspirit in Somerset).
My 3 adult children are positive forces in my life, and I am delighted to be a grandfather to three aged 10, 7 and the latest in her first year. Although not a pet owner, I love dogs & cats (in that order!), and am considering volunteering to look after other people's pets whilst they are in hospital or recuperating. My love of music is fairly broad but does not extend to heavy metal, hip-hop, rap, garage and the like. Classical music is important to me but also folk and world music too. I've done extensive voluntary work since retiring some years ago, mostly for charities assisting disabled people. I am very open to starting a new relationship but expect that this will mean becoming good friends initially. Let's see what happens.

Not sure about this. I want to be inclusive and positive rather than rejecting out of hand, and not be too restrictive at the outset. What is important to me is that my ideal soulmate is mature; has some similar interests and a willingness to share new ones like dancing (only do circle dancing at moment). Most importantly of all, she may have a modicum of emotional baggage; however, she's dealing with it all in a meaningful, positive way. I'd prefer a full, committed relationship with a mature woman who is both sensual and sexy; i.e. who is tactile, caring and romantic. That would help me to feel that a certain 'chemistry' co-exists, and transcends mere physical appearance. Having had a number of long and long-distance relationships, I feel drawn into wishng to meet that special someone dwelling reasonably nearby, preferably within East Anglia - albeit willing to extend my search towards London, or the West Midlands where my son's family live.
An activity companion who enjoys theatre & films; walking, dancing, dining out, nights in, and weekends (or longer) away would be lovely to find & treasure. Lastly but by no means leastly, a kind, caring, open and honest individual who, like me, is left-leaning and concerned about all manner of environmental, social and political issues.
Deal breakers are limited to continued smoking, supporting the Tories in spite of all they have done against the many and the environment, and anyone who has a religious evangelical bias who can’t accept my God-denying Humanist values.
